There were three Selective Service registrations during the duration of the War:
* June 5, 1917 for ages 21-31
* June 5, 1918 for men that had attained the age of 21
* September 12, 1918 for all men between the ages of 18-45
African Americans were required to tear the corner off their registration card to make it easier for recruiters and the local draft board to keep the services segregated. |
