When Casa mentions Julius Caesar's doublet, he if referring to male clothing in Shakespeare's London, not ancient Rome. The real Julius Caesar, of course, wore a toga. On stage, actors often dressed in clothing of the day; workman's clothes to play a laborer, or costly garments for a nobleman. |
