On Stage at the Globe:
As an outdoor theater, the Globe depended on natural light; plays ere performed during the day. Rain or shine, spectators paid a penny to stand in the yard near the elevated stage. For another penny, they could sit in the covered galleries; six pennies was the price for the lords' rooms, the galleries closest to the stage. As its fullest, the Globe likely held 2,500 to 3,000 playgoers at a time.
