The Evidence Room

The Evidence Room is a visual testament to the truth of the Holocaust. It serves as a space for contemplating and remembering the horrors of the past so that the testimony of Holocaust survivors will not die with them.

Initially commissioned for the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, the Evidence Room was designed and built by a team from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, led by architectural historian Robert Jan van Pelt, architects Donald McKay and Anne Bordeleau, and architecture and design curator Sascha Hastings.
