Cultural Diversity & Immigration
Argentina, a land of opportunity
Argentina was forged as a nation open to immigration, building a society whose wealth was matched by its cultural diversity. From the mid-19th Century to the 1950s, wave upon wave of European immigrants, mostly Spanish and Italian, joined by groups from the Middle East, immigrated to Argentina.
This is mirrored in our diverse cuisine, that mixes Spanish, Italian, Central-European, Middle-Eastern and aboriginal influences.
Nowadays, Argentina has one of the most generous migration laws in the world, recognizing the right to migration as a fundamental human right.
More recent migratory currents originate in neighboring countries and, to a lesser extent, in Asia.
