The World Remembers
The Display of Names of those killed in 1917
The 2017 display includes the 661,837 names of military personnel from fourteen nations who lost their lives in 1917. The frequency of appearance of each national name will reflect the number of 1917 deaths from that country.
The display runs for forty-eight days and approximately 13,787 names appear over ten hours and forty minutes each day.
The Canadian names appears in the centre of the display and international names are followed by their internet country code.
Every fifteen minutes a photo of the people of the war appears.
[Note that this sign for 1917 was appearing in October, 2018 but the display was for the 1918 names.]
