These pages from volume six depicting training in the martial arts. At the top of the page, two warriors face off with long blunted poles, apparently a training device for the naginata, a traditional long-handled blade. Below and arranged diagonally across the pages another two men are engaged in sword practice while an audience in the bottom right corner cheers them on. |
