This guy, Vinny Valetutti, lived in Massachusetts and came down for the weekend to put his truck here on the Mall and talk about climate change. What a relief!
"Since the peak of the last Ice Age, sea levels have risen 400 feet. Greenland and Antarctica are beginning to melt. If they melt completely, sea levels will rise another 220 feet!!! 20 feet for Greenland & 200 feet for Antarctica. What will we do?? Note: Please don't believe me. Do your own research."
His sea level rise indicator was saying if only 10% of the ice melted, we'd be dealing with a 22 foot rise. He said that Covid-19 was a minor issue relative to all of this and that just this small portion of the total impact of climate change was an existential threat to life on earth.
All of which is true of course.
