June 28, 2019 marks the one year anniversary of the fatal shootings at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland. The Fallen Journalists Memorial and Foundation was announced the day before the anniversary, recognizing that the free press was involved in all of the events commemorated by other memorials on the Mall, but not the purveyors. |
