The Cabin John Hotel
This 1880's [sic] Victorian extravagance was at the end of the trolley line and was Washington's finest vacation resort. Guests came to marvel at the spectacular stone bridge across the creek, enjoy a scenic amusement park, and dining and dancing to John Philip Sousa's famous band. The hotel declined during Prohibition and burned to the ground in 1938.
