The wood flooring now seen throughout most of the house was installed in the 1890s. This small exposure gives a glimpse at the original flooring present in Lincoln's time which still remains throughout the house underneath. The current historic flooring protects the older soft pine from the foot traffic of tens of thousands of visitors per year. |
