In the book Yertle the Turtle (1958), Dr. Seuss explains that freedom for all creatures is more important than the power of a single person or creature. Yertle the Turtle was king of his pond. As king, he wanted to be the ruler of all he could see! He insisted on building a throne stacked high with other turtles. |
