- Studies at the Chicago Art Institute. (Chicago Native)
- First job General Outdoor Advertising Co. Painted Billboards.
- In the 30s he worked for Advertising Posters (the main producer of backglass & playfields). His boss was George Molentin (Williams Pinball Artwork).
- During WWII he painted war posters while pinball Co. were out of business.
- The Golden Age of Pinball (1947-1960) Gottlieb was king.
