Inukshuk:
The inukshuk in the Embassy lobby was created by David Ruben Piqtoukun (b. 1950). Mr. Piqtoukun was born in the Northwest Territories as a young adult moved to Alberta and then on to Vancouver where he took up carving.
Inukshuk structures are stone monuments that represent the human spirit. Inuit built inuksuit as signposts, or road markers, so that people who followed could find their way through complex terrain.
