Description of Pictures: Gareth Hinds (VOTA) | A Busboys and Poets Books Presentation
Voices of Takoma Authors is an ongoing series of programs sponsored by Historic Takoma featuring presentations by authors in and around Takoma Park about their works, their approach to writing, and their inspirations. This project draws on authors in the Takoma Authors collection. Voices of Takoma Authors provides an opportunity for the community to learn about their author neighbors and engage in discussions with them. While many of these discussions occur at Historic Takoma, Busboys and Poets Books Takoma is hosting some as well. For more, see Historic Takoma’s page: https://historictakoma.org/voices-of-takoma-authors/.
Gareth Hinds is joining us on the Busboys stage to share his career highlights and answer questions. Copies of several of his books will be available for purchase during and after the event, and Hinds will be signing following the program.
This event is free and open to all. Our program begins at 6:00 pm, and will be followed by an audience Q&A. Copies of Hinds’ books will be available for purchase before and after the event. Please note that this event is in person and will not be livestreamed.
We ask that guests RSVP in order to receive direct updates about the event from Busboys and Poets Books
Gareth Hinds is the creator of critically-acclaimed graphic novels based on literary classics, including Beowulf (which Publisher’s Weekly called a “mixed-media gem”), King Lear (which Booklist named one of the top 10 graphic novels for teens), The Merchant of Venice (which Kirkus called “the standard that all others will strive to meet” for Shakespeare adaptation), The Odyssey (which garnered four starred reviews and a spot on ten “best of 2010” lists), Romeo and Juliet (which Kirkus called “spellbinding”), and Macbeth (which the New York Times called “stellar” and “a remarkably faithful rendering”). Gareth is a recipient of the Boston Public Library’s “Literary Lights for Children” award. ...More...

Help? The Medium (Email) links are for screen viewing and emailing. You'll want bigger sizes for printing. [Click here for additional help]
Bigger photos? To save server space, the full-sized versions of these images have either not been loaded to the server or have been removed from the server. (Only some pages are loaded with full-sized images and those usually get removed after three months.)
I still have them though. If you want me to email them to you, please send an email to guthrie.bruce@gmail.com
and I can email them to you, or, depending on the number of images, just repost the page again will the full-sized images.

2023 photos: Equipment this year: My old staples the Fuji XS-1 and Nikon D7000. In April, I bought a Google Pixel 7 Pro since DigitalReview.Com said it was the top camera smartphone and it wasn't an iPhone (so it's not evil). In June, I took the plunge and bought a mirrorless Nikon Z-5 camera.
The only trip so far this year:
(May) a visit to see Dad and Dixie in Asheville, NC and visit with some friends in Brevard.
