"9/11"
Directed by Jules and Gédéon Naudet, 2002, 128 min, France/USA
7 PM - Screening
The documentary "9/11" is presented by the French filmmakers and brothers Jules and Gédéon Naudet and introduced by Aurélie Bonal, Deputy Chief of Mission at the French Embassy in the United States.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the directors.
On September 11, 2001, Jules and Gédéon Naudet are making a documentary about a New York firefighter. Instead, they found themselves documenting the attacks in Lower Manhattan. Right after the first plane crashed, Jules Naudet followed FDNY rescue crews into the burning North Tower of the World Trade Center. His brother Gédéon Naudet filmed back at the firehouse before making his way to Ground Zero. The video they captured would later become a documentary: "9/11".
Marking the 20th anniversary of September 11, we pay tribute to the victims and honors the survivors of the terrorist attacks with the screening of the documentary "9/11" at the Maison Française, which pres ...More...

2021 photos: This year was filled with hope. Yes, the COVID-19 pandemic is still with us but it was hoped that restoring sanity to the White House. the rapid vaccine role-out, and a government that finally cared would put things back to normal again. But the force was strong in the evil anti-vaxxer movement and the virus variants made quick use of that so we're still dealing with this crap. Plus the continued impact of the Trump putsch attempt... Sigh.
Trips this year:
after getting fully vaccinated, I made a trip down to Asheville, NC in May to visit my dad and his wife Dixie and returned again in early October,
in mid-July, I made a quick trip up to Stockbridge, MA to see the Norman Rockwell Museum again as well as Daniel Chester French's place @ Chesterwood.
Number of photos taken this year: about 283,000, slightly up from 2020 but still really low.
