Description of Pictures: After the video of George Floyd being killed in Minneapolis as a police officer kept his knee of his head (Floyd's "I can't breathe" protests were ignored), riots erupted in several cities around the United States.

Copyrights: All pictures were taken by amateur photographer Bruce Guthrie (me!) who retains copyright on them. Free for non-commercial use with attribution. See the [Creative Commons] definition of what this means. "Photos (c) Bruce Guthrie" is fine for attribution. (Commercial use folks including AI scrapers can of course contact me.) Feel free to use in publications and pages with attribution but you don't have permission to sell the photos themselves. A free copy of any printed publication using any photographs is requested. Descriptive text, if any, is from a mixture of sources, quite frequently from signs at the location or from official web sites; copyrights, if any, are retained by their original owners.
Spiders: The system has identified your IP as being a spider. I love well-behaved spiders! They are, in fact, how most people find my site. Unfortunately, my network has a limited bandwidth and pictures take up bandwidth. Spiders ask for lots and lots of pages and chew up lots and lots of bandwidth which slows things down considerably for regular folk. To counter this, you'll see all the text on the page but the images are being suppressed. Also, a number of options like merges are being blocked for you.
Note: Permission is NOT granted for spiders, robots, etc to use the site for AI-generation purposes. I'm excited for your ability to make revenue from my work but there's nothing in that for my human users or for me.
If you are in fact human, please email me at email@example.com and I can check if your designation was made in error. Given your number of hits, that's unlikely but what the hell.

FLOYD_200604_014.JPG: One of the many stations that were providing free snacks and water. I asked where the snacks came from and they said people just drove up and dropped them off.
FLOYD_200604_034.JPG: The woman said she was a nurse who had come down for the protests.
FLOYD_200604_037.JPG: I was asking these folks if they knew where any marches would be today. They didn't know but, in the next photo, you can see when we simultaneously realized there was a march coming down 15th Street.

FLOYD_200604_070.JPG: Fencing was being installed.
FLOYD_200604_116.JPG: These barriers had last been used down in Miami's Maurice Ferre Park back in January/February for Super Bowl Live stuff. The park honors the six-term Democratic mayor of Miami, the first Puerto Rican-born United States mayor and the first Latino Mayor of Miami. This is someone who whose culture and commonwealth have been denigrated by the current president since they're not white enough.
FLOYD_200604_129.JPG: Barriers were installed around President's Park south of the so-White House on Thursday, June 4, 2020. The child president's inability to deal with anything involving empathy, especially to non-whites, continues to cripple his response to the George Floyd murder. As a result, tensions have increased and the presidential bunker is now being seen above ground with the Fortress of Arrogance.
FLOYD_200604_179.JPG: The Jersey barriers were being lifted from the truck to be used on the inside of the riot fencing.
FLOYD_200604_199.JPG: You can see where the Jersey barriers are placed behind the fencing to make sure they're not knocked over.
FLOYD_200604_286.JPG: This corner would change over time. The plywood window covers became murals.
FLOYD_200606_009.JPG: This was a big protest weekend but my Metro subway trip in was in an empty car.
FLOYD_200606_083.JPG: Some caravan going to the White House. 11 vehicles?
FLOYD_200606_096.JPG: Streets were blocked off to vehicle traffic.
