Description of Pictures: Mia Garcia, Maya Motayne -- In Garcia's "The Resolutions," four inseparable friends are together for their annual New Year's Eve celebration. This time, each friend must make a resolution for another friend, which proves more difficult than they thought. Motayne's "Nocturna" is the first book in a fantasy trilogy that celebrates the dark magic of the Latinx culture and heritage.

M. García was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She moved to New York where she studied creative writing at The New School, worked in publishing and lived under a pile of to-be-read books.
She is the author of “Even If the Sky Falls” and “The Resolutions” from Katherine Tegen books, an imprint of HarperCollins.

Latest Title: Nocturna (Forgery of Magic)
Maya Motayne decided to be a writer when she was four years old and hasn’t stopped writing since. She lives in New York City, where she pursues her passions of petting as many dogs as possible and buying purses based on whether or not she can fit a big book in them. “Nocturna” is her first novel.

(July) My 14th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con (including sites in Utah).
(August) Massachusetts (Boston, Stockbridge, and Springfield) to experie/nce rain in another state, and
(August) Asheville, NC to visit Dad and his wife Dixie.
Equipment this year: I continued to use my Fuji XS-1 cameras but, depending on the event, I also used a Nikon D7000.
Number of photos taken this year: about 582,000.
