I love well-behaved spiders! They are, in fact, how most people find my site. Unfortunately, my network has a limited bandwidth and pictures take up bandwidth. Spiders ask for lots and lots of pages and chew up lots and lots of bandwidth which slows things down considerably for regular folk. To counter this, you'll see all the text on the page but the images are being suppressed. Also, some system options like merges are being blocked for you.
Note: Permission is NOT granted for spiders, robots, etc to use the site for AI-generation purposes. I'm sure you're thrilled by your ability to make revenue from my work but there's nothing in that for my human users or for me.
If you are in fact human, please email me at guthrie.bruce@gmail.com and I can check if your designation was made in error. Given your number of hits, that's unlikely but what the hell.

Refugees Flee Myanmar
Adnan Abidi
Reuters photo staff
Nov. 5, 2017, Bangladesh
Adnan Abidi, Reuters
The assignment left Adnan Abidi shaken. One of seven photographers Reuters sent to cover Rohingya refugees fleeing violence in Myanmar, he said: "I pray nobody sees this again."
Thousands of desperate refugees slogged through the muddy, waist-deep Naf River into Bangladesh. People carried aging parents and children on their shoulders. One woman fainted and fell on Abidi's feet.
Myanmar's violent 2017 campaign to oust Rohingya militants spurred nearly 700,000 Rohingya -- a mostly Muslim minority group in predominantly Buddhist Myanmar -- to escape to refugee camps in Bangladesh. United Nations officials have called Myanmar's actions ethnic cleansing.
At a camp medical center, Abidi shared tea with a man who said his entire family was killed, except for his son, Mohammed Shoaib, 7. The boy removed his shirt to reveal a jagged scar left by a bullet.
"When you see a child like this, you are just shattered," Abidi said. "What did he do to anybody? He's a harmless young kid. Why did he deserve this?"

Deadly Virginia
Protest
Ryan M. Kelly
The Daily Progress
Aug. 12, 2017, Charlottesville, Va.
For months, photographer Ryan Kelly had been covering the anger brewing in Charlottesville, Va., over a plan to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.
As darkness fell on Aug. 11, 2017, hundreds of white nationalists bearing torches and tear gas marched toward the University of Virginia campus, chanting, "White lives matter!" and "Jews will not replace us!"
The next day, the Unite the Right rally exploded in violence. Protesters and counterprotesters traded punches and swung clubs. By noon, the city had declared a state of emergency.
Kelly followed counterprotesters as they began to disperse. Suddenly, a gray Dodge Challenger plowed through the crowd. Bodies flew. Heather Heyer, 32, was killed; 19 others were injured. The driver fled but was quickly arrested.
"I wish the attack didn't happen," Kelly said. "I wish I didn't have to witness it. But since it did happen, and I was on that street, I'm proud this photo exists so that the world can never forget exactly what violence and hatred looks like."

- Bigger photos? To save server space, the full-sized versions of these images have either not been loaded to the server or have been removed from the server. (Only some pages are loaded with full-sized images and those usually get removed after three months.)
I still have them though. If you want me to email them to you, please send an email to guthrie.bruce@gmail.com
and I can email them to you, or, depending on the number of images, just repost the page again will the full-sized images.
