DC -- POLITICO @ Newseum -- Tale of Two Crises (Opiods and Diabetes):

Description of Pictures: Diabetes and opioid abuse are two complex and significant health crises plaguing the U.S. More than a third of Americans have diabetes or pre-diabetes. And an estimated 115 people die each day as a result of opioid abuse. In order to effectively respond to these crises, the public and private sectors will have to explore new approaches.
What role can technology and digital tools play in improving prevention and treatment of diabetes and curbing the opioid epidemic? What are innovative ways that social determinants of health can be addressed?
Join POLITICO Live for a two-panel conversation with policymakers, federal officials, and technology and health experts to better understand what is already working and what is still needed to address these two massive health care challenges.
