Sherri Duskey Rinker is a children’s book author and graphic designer whose first book, “Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site,” was a No. 1 New York Times best-seller. Her first book was inspired by her young son’s fascination with trucks and their bedtime ritual of imagining construction vehicles shutting off for the day. Her other books include “Mighty, Mighty Construction Site” and the best-selling “Steam Train, Dream Train.” Her most recent book, in collaboration with John Rocco, “Big Machines: The Story of Virginia Lee Burton” (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), is a story about children’s book author and illustrator Virginia Lee Burton and the characters she created.

John Rocco has held a wide variety of jobs in his life, from working in the shell fishing industry, to designing attractions for Walt Disney World's Epcot, to creating illustrations for the DreamWorks movie "Shrek." Since 2005 his focus has been on creating children's books, such as "Blackout" (a Borders Original Voices Award winner), "Moonpowder," "Wolf! Wolf!" and "Fu Finds the Way." He has also created the cover artwork for Rick Riordan's best-selling "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" and "Kane Chronicles" series. His most recent children’s book, with Sherri Duskey Rinker, is “Big Machines: The Story of Virginia Lee Burton” (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt).
