Description of Pictures: The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), in cooperation with the Newseum Institute and the Rabin Chair Forum of George Washington University, invites you to a film screening of “Watching the Moon at Night,” a 90-minute creative documentary with a personal tone. Filmed in six countries, Watching the Moon at Night looks at contemporary terrorism and anti-Semitism and focuses on the victims’ experiences, juxtaposing them against the views of world experts in this field. As a result, the film goes far beyond the stereotyped perception of terrorism. Historian Walter Laqueur, philosopher André Glucksmann, and historian Robert Wistrich are among the film’s featured experts.
Following the film screening, there will be a panel discussion featuring (seated left to right):
* Bo Persson, filmmaker
* Jeffrey Herbst, Newseum President and CEO
* Carl Gershman, President of the National Endowment for Democracy
* Bruce Hoffman, Professor and Director, Georgetown University Center for Security Studies
* Walter Reich, Yitzhak Rabin Professor of Int’l Affairs, Ethics, and Human Behavior, GWU Elliott School for International Affairs
In the audience was Ambassador Ryszard Schnepf from Poland.

2016 photos: Equipment this year: I continued to use my Fuji XS-1 cameras but, depending on the event, I also used a Nikon D7000.
Seven relatively short trips this year:
two Civil War Trust conference (Gettysburg, PA and West Point, NY, with a side-trip to New York City),
my 11th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con trip (including sites in Utah, Nevada, and California),
a quick trip to Michigan for Uncle Wayne's funeral,
two additional trips to New York City, and
a Civil Rights site trip to Alabama during the November elections. Being in places where people died to preserve the rights of minority voters made the Trumputin election even more depressing.
Number of photos taken this year: just over 610,000.
