Description of Pictures: My So-Called Jewish Life
Experience the 8th annual night of funny, poignant, powerful, and peculiar autobiographical stories about all things Jewish, not-so-Jewish, and wanna-be Jewish. Storytellers include (in sequence):
* Leah Harris is a mother, writer, and storyteller whose 2016 Capital Fringe solo show “Aliens, Nazis, and Angels” was named among “Best of the Fringe” by DC Metro Theater Arts.
* Jason Kuller is a practicing lawyer, former stand-up comedian, and currently the CEO of local restaurant favorites Proof, Estadio, Doi Moi, and 2 birds 1 stone.
* Bonnie Rich is a filmmaker producing a light-hearted documentary in which she tries to persuade her millennial daughters that Judaism is worth keeping in the family.
* Rabbi Aaron Potek is the Community Rabbi at Gather the Jews. He grew up in Saint Louis Park, MN and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering. After receiving ordination from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, he served as the campus rabbi at Northwestern University’s Hillel.
* Rachel Louise Snyder is the author of Fugitive Denim and What We’ve Lost is Nothing. She has written for The New Yorker and “This American Life.”
* Suzanne Hecker is a part-time IT Project Manager and full-time Jewish mother to two teenage sons. She is very excited for her third storytelling performance.
* Cody Pomeranz is a speechwriter from Cincinnati. He spends his free time doing stand-up comedy and cheering on—or crying over—his beloved Cincinnati Bengals. The youngest of six children, he is afraid of Furbies and, when scared, tells himself his name is Jason Bourne.
* Amy Saidman (Host and Co-Director) is the Artistic Executive Director of Story District. Her Jewish street cred includes going to Camp Moshava and living on a kibutz.
* Katy Barrett (Co-Director) also known as Dreidel Master K, discovered Story District four years ago at My So-Called Jewish Life and has been hooked ever since. ...More...

2016 photos: Equipment this year: I continued to use my Fuji XS-1 cameras but, depending on the event, I also used a Nikon D7000.
Seven relatively short trips this year:
two Civil War Trust conference (Gettysburg, PA and West Point, NY, with a side-trip to New York City),
my 11th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con trip (including sites in Utah, Nevada, and California),
a quick trip to Michigan for Uncle Wayne's funeral,
two additional trips to New York City, and
a Civil Rights site trip to Alabama during the November elections. Being in places where people died to preserve the rights of minority voters made the Trumputin election even more depressing.
Number of photos taken this year: just over 610,000.
