Description of Pictures: The TEN: An Alternative Shavuot Experience Featuring Joshua Malina
Did you vote Jed Bartlet for President? Are all your meetings a walk and talk? Then Sixth & I is your place to be for The TEN – our innovative take on the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, traditionally celebrated by studying Torah and enjoying the first fruits of the harvest.
The West Wing and Scandal’s Joshua Malina is a remarkably good Jewish boy. He’ll share his perspective on how to make it in Hollywood and still be a mensch, and he’ll talk Torah, the upcoming election, his new podcast, and Jewish ethics with Rabbi Shira.
Malina is best known for his role playing Will Bailey on The West Wing, the heady, witty White House Communications Director. Recently he launched a podcast, The West Wing Weekly, an episode-by-episode discussion of one of television’s most beloved shows with co-host Hrishikesh Hirway. A product of Jewish day school and Yale University, Malina is also well known for his roles in Sport’s Night, In Plain Sight, and The American President.
Following the conversation, join us for a pre-Shavuot festival with babka ice cream sandwiches, a discussion about the Jewishness of The West Wing, DIY Shavuot kits, and more.
Mrs. Landingham would certainly approve.
Made possible by the generosity of The Reva and David Logan Foundation.
The event was introduced by Scott Perlo.

When the Blessed Holy One spoke each of the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai, God's voice would split into seven voices. Those seven voices split into the 70 languages of the world so that everyone could understand.

Bigger photos? To save server space, the full-sized versions of these images have either not been loaded to the server or have been removed from the server. (Only some pages are loaded with full-sized images and those usually get removed after three months.)
I still have them though. If you want me to email them to you, please send an email to guthrie.bruce@gmail.com
and I can email them to you, or, depending on the number of images, just repost the page again will the full-sized images.
2016 photos: Equipment this year: I continued to use my Fuji XS-1 cameras but, depending on the event, I also used a Nikon D7000.
Seven relatively short trips this year:
two Civil War Trust conference (Gettysburg, PA and West Point, NY, with a side-trip to New York City),
my 11th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con trip (including sites in Utah, Nevada, and California),
a quick trip to Michigan for Uncle Wayne's funeral,
two additional trips to New York City, and
a Civil Rights site trip to Alabama during the November elections. Being in places where people died to preserve the rights of minority voters made the Trumputin election even more depressing.
Number of photos taken this year: just over 610,000.
