Description of Pictures: Eyewitness to History: Reporting Vietnam
To mark the opening of its new exhibit “Reporting Vietnam,” the Newseum presents a special invitation-only program featuring four veteran journalists who will share their memories of reporting the Vietnam War.
Bob Schieffer was a reporter at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram where he was the first reporter from a Texas newspaper to report from Vietnam. Currently the moderator for “Face the Nation,” he joined CBS in 1969 and covered the Pentagon and the White House during Vietnam.
Peter Arnett reported from Vietnam for the Associated Press from 1962 until the fall of Saigon in 1975 and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1966 for his Vietnam reporting. He went on to a long career at CNN.
David Hume Kennerly arrived in Vietnam in 1971 as a photographer for United Press International and won the 1972 Pulitzer Prize for feature photography for his images capturing quieter moments of war. He later became President Gerald R. Ford’s personal photographer.
Margaret Brennan, CBS News State Department correspondent, will moderate the program.
Following the program, members of the Friends of the First Amendment Society, the Corporate Engagement Program, Sustaining Press Pass Members and other VIPs are invited to attend a special reception and view the “Reporting Vietnam” exhibit before it opens to the public on May 22.

Bigger photos? To save server space, the full-sized versions of these images have either not been loaded to the server or have been removed from the server. (Only some pages are loaded with full-sized images and those usually get removed after three months.)
I still have them though. If you want me to email them to you, please send an email to guthrie.bruce@gmail.com
and I can email them to you, or, depending on the number of images, just repost the page again will the full-sized images.

2015 photos: Equipment this year: I mostly used my Fuji XS-1 camera but, depending on the event, I also used a Nikon D7000.
I retired from the US Census Bureau in god-forsaken Suitland, Maryland on my 58th birthday in May. Yee ha!
Trips this year:
a quick trip to Florida.
two Civil War Trust conferences (Raleigh, NC and Richmond, VA), and
my 10th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con trip (including Los Angeles).
Ego Strokes: Carolyn Cerbin used a Kevin Costner photo in her USA Today article. Miss DC pictures were used a few times in the Washington Post.
Number of photos taken this year: just over 550,000.
