Description of Pictures: The German-American Heritage Museum and the City of Berlin invite you to
A Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the President John F. Kennedy's Famous Speech made in Berlin, Germany June 26th, 1963
Honored Guests and Speakers to Include:
* Berlin Mayor and Minister of the Interior, Mr Frank Henkel
* German Ambassador to the United States, the Honorable Peter Ammon
* Professor William Richard Smyser of Georgetown University, and
* Video greetings from the US Ambassador to the United States, the Honorable Phil Murphy
The evening's reception, conveniently located on the Concourse level of the Newseum between the Berlin Wall Gallery and the exhibit "Creating Camelot", will begin with a special screening of the CBS Newsreel from JFK's visit in Berlin in 1963.
This event is made possible with the support of the German Information Center, Visit Berlin, BeBerlin,Berlin Partner, IHK Berlin and Deutsche Welle.
List of the speakers in sequence:
1. Ruediger Lentz - executive director of the German-American Heritage Museum. Lentz was the first to speak that night, but he also spoke several times throughout as he introduced the other speakers.
2. Peter Ammon - Ambassador of Germany to the United States.
3. Phil Murphy - Ambassador of the United States to Germany. He did not attend in person, but recorded a video message for the event.
4. Frank Henkel - Mayor of Berlin and Minister of the Interior.
5. Professor William Richard Smyser - former aide-de-camp of General Lucius D. Clay and Georgetown professor.
6. Marvin Kalb - former CBS correspondent who was present at Kennedy's speech in West Berlin.
7. Burkhard Kieker - CEO of visitBerlin.

three Civil War Trust conferences (Memphis, TN, Jackson, MS [to which I added a week to to visit sites in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee], and Richmond, VA), and
my 8th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con trip (including sites in Nevada and California).
Ego Strokes: Aviva Kempner used my photo of her as her author photo in Larry Ruttman's "American Jews & America's Game: Voices of a Growing Legacy in Baseball" book.
Number of photos taken this year: just over 570,000.
