Description of Pictures: Stephen Hess - Whatever Happened to the Washington Reporters, 1978-2012:
In the seventh—and concluding—volume of his Newswork series, Hess returns to the nearly 500 reporters whose work he surveyed first in 1978, looking at career trajectories and soliciting ideas about the field. Hess—whose own career has ranged from speechwriter for Eisenhower to transition team advisor for Reagan and Clinton to G.W. professor and senior fellow at Brookings—presents a rich retrospective of the changed, and changing, world of journalism.
