Description of Pictures: Leslie Sanchez, popular TV pundit and frequent columnist, discusses her new book, “You’ve Come a Long Way, Maybe: Sarah, Michelle, Hillary, and the Shaping of the New American Woman” at 6:30 pm on Monday, January 25, in the Holeman Lounge. A question and answer session will follow with special guests: Patti Solis Doyle, former Campaign Manager for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Rosalind Wiseman, internationally recognized New York Times bestselling author and educator on education and social justice. Janet Murguia, Chief Executive Officer of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR).
In her book, Sanchez tackles hard-hitting questions like: Can women handle the stress and confrontation of life in the political limelight? Why are women judged in terms of factors like fashion and approachability? “You’ve Come A Long Way, Maybe” analyzes three women at the heart of Election ’08 who were equally captivating in very different ways and continue to be prominent in the news: Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama, and Hillary Clinton. Sanchez takes a hard look at the coverage and scrutiny these women have undergone in a male-dominated arena. Sanchez breaks all the stereotypes of yesterday’s expectations of women on the political battlefield.
Sanchez served as executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans under George W. Bush. She is seen on Hardball with Chris Matthews, Fox News Channel, CNN, NPR, PBS, NBC’s Today Show and Nightly News, CBS’s Early Show and ABC’s World News. Sanchez is the founder of IMPACTO Group LLC for Latinos.

I still have them though. If you want me to email them to you, please send an email to guthrie.bruce@gmail.com
and I can email them to you, or, depending on the number of images, just repost the page again will the full-sized images.

2010 photos: Equipment this year: I mostly used the Fuji S100fs until the third one broke and I started sending them back for repairs. Then I used either the Fuji S200EHX or the Nikon D90 until I got the S100fs ones repaired. At the end of the year I bought a Nikon D5000 but I returned it pretty quickly.
Trips this year:
Civil War Trust conferences (Lexington, KY and Nashville, TN), and
my 5th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con trip (including Los Angeles).
My office at the main Commerce Department building closed in October and I was shifted out to the Bureau of the Census in Suitland Maryland. It's good to have a job of course but that killed being able to see basically any cultural events during the day. There's basically nothing of interest that you can see around the Census building.
Number of photos taken this year: about 395,000..
