Specific picture descriptions: Photos above with "i" icons next to the bracketed sequence numbers (e.g. "[1] ") are described as follows:
REINER_091026_382.JPG: One of our great comedians, Carl Reiner, passed on June 29, 2020. He was a writer and actor on Sid Caesar's "Your Show of Shows" before creating "The Dick Van Dyke Show" (1961-1966). He also worked with Mel Brooks on "2000 Year Old Men", cowrote Steve Martin's "The Jerk" and directed movies like "Oh, God!" in addition to performing in many other movies.
One of the more famous Dick Van Dyke episodes ("That's My Boy??") was a flashback of Laura Petrie (Mary Tyler Moore) having a new baby and Rob (Dick Van Dyke) thinking it had been swapped with another baby with a similar name (Peters) at the hospital. It's only when the other (black) couple (played by Greg Morris and Mimi Dillard) show up at their door responding to panic calls from Rob who wants to switch the kids back that Rob realizes he had nothing to worry about. He also had an episode about the inappropriateness of blackface. Both episodes met resistance from southern broadcasters.

I still have them though. If you want me to email them to you, please send an email to guthrie.bruce@gmail.com
and I can email them to you, or, depending on the number of images, just repost the page again will the full-sized images.

2009 photos: Equipment this year: I mostly used the Fuji S100fs. I've also got a Nikon D90 and a newer Fuji -- the S200EHX -- both of which are nice but I still prefer the flexibility of the Fuji.
Trips this year:
Niagara Falls, NY,
New York City,
Civil War Trust conferences in Gettysburg, PA and Springfield, IL, and
my 4th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con trip (including Los Angeles, Yosemite, Death Valley, Kings Canyon, Joshua Tree, etc).
Ego strokes: I had a picture of a Lincoln-Obama cupcake sculpture published in Civil War Times and WUSA-9, the local CBS affiliate, ran a quick piece on me. A picture that I took at the annual Abraham Lincoln Symposium appeared in the National Archives' "Prologue" magazine. I became a volunteer with the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
Number of photos taken this year: 417,000.
