Join Sir Harold Evans, best-selling author of "The American Century," as he reflects on his wild ride through the newspaper life that is captured in his new book “My Paper Chase: True Stories of Vanished Times.”
The former editor of the Sunday Times and The Times of London, Evans led coverage that exposed the connection between thalidomide and birth defects.
As guest curator for a Newseum exhibit on war reporting, he also wrote the book “War Stories: Reporting in the Times of Conflict.”
Described by the BBC as “the great crusader of the 20th century British press,” Evans championed the campaign style of investigative reporting, uncovering government secrets and official wrongdoing.
He was the founding editor of Conde Nast Traveler, editorial director of U.S. News and World Report, and president and publisher of Random House, where he published a record number of bestsellers.
“Inside Media” is produced by the Newseum and is open to all visitors. Seating is on a space-available basis.
