Specific picture descriptions: Photos above with "i" icons next to the bracketed sequence numbers (e.g. "[1] ") are described as follows:
TBAY_041024_130.JPG: Halloween dummies were out. I was impressed that the boots look pretty nice!
TBAY_041024_144.JPG: These pillars were put here when this area wanted to have condos put in. The developers bailed out but the pillars remain. They exist at the edge of a field that was used as an airfield during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Wikipedia Description: Turtle Bay Resort
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Turtle Bay Resort is a luxury resort located in Kahuku, Hawaii. The hotel is the only major hotel on the North Shore of Oahu, and is a 50 minute drive from Honolulu.
The hotel is situated on 880 acres of land at Turtle Bay, and features 375 rooms, 26 suites, and 42 Beach Bungalows. The hotel is uniquely situated on a small bay which provides every room with an ocean view. Resort facilities also include 2 world-class golf courses, 10 tennis courts, pools, and a spa.
The hotel was built in 1972, and originally belonged to the Hilton Hotels. It is currently owned and operated by Kuilima Resorts. A potential development deal with Starwood Hotels fell through in July 2007.
The resort is close to a number of well known surf spots, including Waimea Bay, the Banzai Pipeline, and Sunset Beach. The resort is also within close proximity to Hale'iwa and the Polynesian Cultural Center.
A number of films and TV shows have been filmed on location at the Turtle Bay Resort. FOX's show, North Shore, was filmed here, and known as the Grand Waimea Hotel. The hotel has also been seen in Hawaii 5-0, Full House, The Big Bounce, and the upcoming Forgetting Sarah Marshall, from Universal Pictures.
Bigger photos? To save server space, the full-sized versions of these images have either not been loaded to the server or have been removed from the server. (Only some pages are loaded with full-sized images and those usually get removed after three months.)
I still have them though. If you want me to email them to you, please send an email to guthrie.bruce@gmail.com
and I can email them to you, or, depending on the number of images, just repost the page again will the full-sized images.

[Nighttime][Structures]
2004 photos: Equipment this year: I bought two Fujifilm S7000 digital cameras. While they produced excellent images, I found all of the retractable-lens Fuji models had a disturbing tendency to get dust inside the lens. Dark blurs would show up on the images and the camera had to be sent back to the shop in order to get it fixed. I returned one of the cameras when the blurs showed up in the first month. I found myself buying extended warranties on cameras.
Trips this year: (1) Margot and I went off to Scotland for a few days, my first time overseas. (2) I went to Hawaii on business (such a deal!) and extended it, spending a week in Hawaii and another in California. (3) I went to Tennessee to man a booth and extended it to go to my third Fan Fair country music festival.
Number of photos taken this year: 110,000.
