Description of Pictures: Pamplin Historical Park is a private effort which includes significant siege lines south of Petersburg. It also includes the Federal break-thru point during the April 2 1865 mass attacks following the Confederate defeat at Five Forks.
This family event will feature music once held dear to the hearts of Johnny Reb and Billy Yank. Attendees will enjoy spirited vocals by Douglas Jimerson, accompanied by Gilmore's Light Ensemble. Jimerson's presentation will be followed with a performance by Jay Ungar and the Molly Mason Family Band. Jay Ungar and Molly Mason are best remembered for the theme song "Ashokan Farewell," from Ken Burns' acclaimed series The Civil War.
To add to the Civil War flavor of the event, the public will be treated to a living history demonstration by the 2nd Regiment, Battery B, U.S. Colored Light Artillery. There will also be live cannon firings and rifle firing demonstrations performed by the Pamplin Historical Park staff, as well as walking tours of the April 2, 1865 battlefield.

2003 photos: Equipment this year: I decided my Epson digital camera wasn't quite enough for what I wanted. Since I already had Compact Flash chips for it, I had to find another camera which used CF chips. That brought me to buy the Fujifilm S602 Zoom in March 2003. A great digital camera, I used it exclusively for an entire year.
Trips this year: Three-week trip this year out west, mostly in Utah.
Number of photos taken this year: 68,000.
