I love well-behaved spiders! They are, in fact, how most people find my site. Unfortunately, my network has a limited bandwidth and pictures take up bandwidth. Spiders ask for lots and lots of pages and chew up lots and lots of bandwidth which slows things down considerably for regular folk. To counter this, you'll see all the text on the page but the images are being suppressed. Also, some system options like merges are being blocked for you.
Note: Permission is NOT granted for spiders, robots, etc to use the site for AI-generation purposes. I'm sure you're thrilled by your ability to make revenue from my work but there's nothing in that for my human users or for me.

- UNMEM_031009_02.JPG: A stained glass panel, designed by Marc Chagall of France, with the glass work executed by Charles Marq of the Atelier Jacques Simon in Reims, France, is installed on the west side of the General Assembly Lobby as a memorial to the late Secretary-General, Dag Hammarskjold, and those who died with him. Staff members at Headquarters and abroad donated the funds for its execution in answer to an appeal by the Staff Council made soon after Mr Hammarskjold's death. Mr Chagall donated the design.
The panel is 15 feet wide and 12 feet high. It is not a window, but a free-standing composition in stained glass. Mr Chagall said it depicts his conceptions on the themes of peace and human happiness. "On the right hand side of the panel, you will see mankind, with its yearning for peace, its prophets and its victims. In the center is the symbol of peace itself. On the left, above and below, are depicted motherhood and the people who are struggling for peace. The main thing is not to see it, but feel it."
