Specific picture descriptions: Photos above with "i" icons next to the bracketed sequence numbers (e.g. "[1] ") are described as follows:
USNA_031102_10.JPG: The Navy mascot has testicles which are apparently rubbed for luck
USNA_031102_19.JPG: The Navy Academy is erecting a series of gates around some of the buildings for security reasons. Unlike at West Point, which is closed up as tight as a drum, they claim in Annapolis that they're only making sure that the public (i.e. terrorists) can't access some of the buildings but the others will remain open to the public.
USNA_031102_35.JPG: This memorial is to submariners. It says: Centennial of the United States Navy Submarine Force. Dedicated to those who serve beneath the seas, families, and support personnel.
USNA_031102_51.JPG: This is Michelson Hall which was under repairs. Dr Albert Michelson (USNA 1873) was the first person to successfully measure the speed of light, for which he received the Nobel prize in physics. The cannon thing is the Mexican Monument. Erected in 1848, it honors four students who die in the Mexican War.
USNA_031102_53.JPG: In the distance is Bancroft Hall where the cadets stay. The statue to the left of the sidewalk is said to be that of Indian warrior Tecumseh who was the figurehead of the USS Delaware in 1817. The next two pictures show what happens to Tecumseh during football season. However, they point out at http://usna.navpooh.com/navy_page2.html that the statue was actually Tamenend, the peaceful leader of the Delaware Indians who befriended early settlers.
USNA_031102_76.JPG: This is the front of Bancroft Hall. From the map, it's apparent that this building is closed to the public but I didn't know that.

I still have them though. If you want me to email them to you, please send an email to guthrie.bruce@gmail.com
and I can email them to you, or, depending on the number of images, just repost the page again will the full-sized images.

2003 photos: Equipment this year: I decided my Epson digital camera wasn't quite enough for what I wanted. Since I already had Compact Flash chips for it, I had to find another camera which used CF chips. That brought me to buy the Fujifilm S602 Zoom in March 2003. A great digital camera, I used it exclusively for an entire year.
Trips this year: Three-week trip this year out west, mostly in Utah.
Number of photos taken this year: 68,000.
