Description of Pictures: Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye!
2009 – Indefinitely
Since 1984, Transformers toys have been a part of playtime in America. The classic “Good versus Evil” story line so representative of the struggle between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. during that era has emerged in the character of Transformers action figures and the plot lines of their stories.
The Paramount/DreamWorks film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was filmed in part at the Udvar-Hazy Center. It features the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird as Jetfire, a wise, elderly, former Decepticon (an evil Transformer) turned Autobot (a good Transformer). See toys and props from the film.

Since 1984, Transformers toys have been a part of playtime in America. Multiple generations have devoted many hours converting these complex creations from cars, trucks, and planes into robotic-shaped creatures of all kinds. No longer simply toys for young children, Transformers have a devoted following that bridges age boundaries.
Transformers toys were first released while Cold War frictions were shaping America's political and military policies. The classic "Good versus Evil" story line so representative of the struggle between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. during that era has emerged in the character of Transformers action figures and the plot lines of their stories.
AIRXTR_150525_12.JPG: All Spark Fragment:
This All Spark fragment, the larger of the two remaining, was stolen by the Decepticons and used to ignite Megatron's "spark," bringing him back to life.

Unknown at the time, a smaller fragment from The Cube had lodged itself in Sam's ragged t-shirt during the final struggle between Optimus and Megatron. Sam finds this small yet powerful sliver and begins to have visions of ancient symbols and markings -- information the Decepticons need to destroy life on Earth.
Sam and his "cyber-geek" friend Leo by chance come in contact with a former Sector 7 agent, Reggie Simmons, who still searches for Decepticons. With his help they determine that the Udvar-Hazy Center houses an ancient Transformer who may be able to save humanity.
With Wheelie in the lead, they find the SR-71 to be the hidden resting robot. As Sam approaches the Blackbird, the All Spark sliver glows and is suddenly ripped from his hand -- drawn magnetically toward the SR-71 nose gear. Mikaela and Sam recognize the Decepticon symbol embossed on the nose gear door (a carefully affixed replica). The sliver joins with Jetfire in a flurry of light and sparks -- a Pulse Blast results from the infusion of energy, while Sam and Mikaela scurry to safety.
AIRXTR_150525_21.JPG: The All Spark
The All Spark, also known as The Cube, once provided the life force on Cybertron, the Transformers' home world. Missing for more than a millennium, it was finally located on Earth. Both Decepticons and Autobots converged to recover the All Spark, resulting in an epic battle between good and evil.
At the end of the first Transformers movie, Sam shoved The Cube deep into Megatron's chest, the Decepticon leader and Autobot nemesis. Both Megatron and the All Spark were destroyed, but a small fragment of The Cube was pulled from the doomed Transformer and saved by the Autobots' leader, Optimus Prime. In the sequel, that fragment was cryogenically frozen and remained under guarded government protection.
