Description of Pictures: Spectrum of Fashion
The Maryland Historical Society has unlocked one of its greatest archival treasures in a new exhibition, Spectrum of Fashion, open October 2019 through October 2020. The visually stunning installation highlights the extraordinary breadth of the MdHS costume collection across four centuries and features nearly 100 examples of women’s and men’s clothing and accessories, as well as decorative arts.

1. MDHFAS_191103_001.JPG: Spectrum of Fashion Clothing is the most intimate object of personal expression -- a physical manifestation of our identity. In this exhibition, the range of what fashion documents is writ large. Hidden lives of both famous and forgotten Marylanders are revealed, telling stories of makers, wearers, and moments in time. Just like the color spectrum contains an infinite number of hues, fashion itself offers endless possibilities. Selected from almost 12,000 garments, the clothing you will see is but a glimpse of the Fashion Archives at the Maryland Historical Society.

2019 photos: Equipment this year: I continued to use my Fuji XS-1 cameras but, depending on the event, I also used a Nikon D7000. Trips this year: a four-day jaunt to Massachusetts (Boston, Stockbridge, and Springfield) to experience rain in another state, Asheville, NC to visit Dad and his wife Dixie, four trips to New York City (including the United Nations, Flushing, and the New York Comic-Con), and my 14th consecutive San Diego Comic-Con (including sites in Utah). Number of photos taken this year: about 582,000.
