Specific picture descriptions: Photos above with "i" icons next to the bracketed sequence numbers (e.g. "[1] ") are described as follows:
ISS_210118_12.JPG: The following pictures are from the page 2021_01_18_ISS International Space Station flyover (2 photos from 01/18/2021)
ISS_210104_07.JPG: The following pictures are from the page 2021_01_04_ISS International Space Station flyover (4 photos from 01/04/2021)
ISS_200919_30.JPG: This was the International Space Station flying over while I was taking photos at the new Eisenhower Memorial.
ISS_200531_25.JPG: The following pictures are from the page 2020_XX_ISS International Space Station flyover (6 photos from 2020) The big blob on the left is the moon. The small dot on the right is the International Space Station. Google "Spot the Station" and sign up for free text alerts from NASA whenever you have a chance of seeing it fly over.
ISS_181225_16.JPG: The following pictures are from the page 2018_XX_ISS International Space Station flyover (4 photos from 2018) I slept pretty badly on Christmas Eve -- way too much caffeine. NASA had sent me their International Space Station flyover alert for 6:10am but I'm usually never awake for the pre-dawn stuff. But that day I was so I watched the light fly over. It doesn't make for very interesting photos but you can clearly see it in them.
ISS_181225_17.JPG: The red arrow points to the dot that is the International Space Station flying over my area on Christmas morning. It doesn't make for great pictures, but it's still pretty cool to see.
Sign up for the free NASA email alerts at https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/ Enter your ZIP code and they'll let you know when you've got a chance of seeing it fly over.

Description of Subject Matter: If you go to NASA's "Spot the Station" site (https://spotthestation.nasa.gov), they'll send you an email when the International Space Station is flying by in a way that you can watch it. It's just a light that pursues a straight line across the sky for a few minutes but it's interesting to see anyway.
Bigger photos? To save space on the server and because the modern camera images are so large, photos larger than 640x480 have not been loaded on this page. If you need the bigger sizes of selected photos, email me and I can email them back to you or I can re-load this page temporarily with the bigger versions restored.
